Elmore Court wedding videographer + photographer
A proper country house with a sense of humour – and one of our favourite places to film.
Filming at Elmore Court: what we’ve learned
Weddings at Elmore Court always seem to have a brilliant vibe. It’s also practically on our doorstep in Gloucestershire – so there are no travel issues and no travel costs to worry about.
A ceremony in the Great Hall
We love the mix of old and new here, and the old house is where it starts. Ceremonies take place in the grand hall, where those iconic angel statues frame the front of the aisle for you to get married in front of. Add the amazing tapestries hanging from the walls and the stained-glass windows that let the light flood through, and you have a room full of elegance and charm – it looks stunning on film.
Portraits on the steps + in the gardens
The front entrance, with its short flight of steps, is a fantastic backdrop for couple portraits – and the obvious place for your family photos. Round the side of the house, the garden is beautiful for a stroll and some more intimate photos. Sometimes the greenhouse makes an appearance too, and we’ve captured some genuinely funny moments around it.
The Gillyflower: dinner, then the big reveal
Your wedding breakfast and evening reception take place in the Gillyflower suite. It’s hard to pin down its style – wooden floors and walls, giant square windows that almost touch the floor and glass chandeliers spanning the entire room. Modern, yet somehow old, all at once.
Then there’s the dancefloor, hidden behind a giant curtain. The reveal is a real moment that signals the start of the evening party – and the giant disco ball waiting behind it says just one thing: let’s party. No wonder the most repeated instruction at Becky + James’s wedding was “Please… face the curtain.” Their day had it all: laugh-out-loud speeches, tiny humans causing beautiful chaos and dangerously competitive beer pong.
Our top tip: leave time for portraits on the front steps – and make sure everyone is facing the curtain for the big reveal.
