Quantock Hills, Somerset venue guide

Crowcombe Court wedding videographer + photographer

Epically grand, gloriously light and made for a staircase entrance – at the foot of the Quantock Hills.

Filming at Crowcombe Court

Crowcombe Court is epically grand – a Grade I-listed Georgian mansion at the foot of the Quantock Hills, and one of those venues that makes every entrance feel like an occasion.

The Great Hall

Our favourite space is the Great Hall. The stone floor and the grand staircase make it breathtaking – and couples love making their grand entrance down those stairs. Who wouldn’t?

It’s also beautifully light, which we love for filming and photography, and when the applause starts after your vows it rings out loud around the room. That’s the kind of real audio that makes a film.

Your whole day in one place

Crowcombe has getting-ready spaces on site, which makes life so much easier for couples who want their whole day in the same location. No dashing between venues – we capture the nerves, the laughter and the final touches, then follow you straight to the top of the staircase.

Dinner and dancing

After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast moves to the Victorian Ballroom, with its high ceilings and chandeliers, and most evening parties head down to the vaulted undercroft – a club-style space with its own bar – though the party can also take place upstairs in the ceremony space.

Made for the drone

The grand house, its grounds and the Quantock Hills beyond make for some seriously sweeping drone shots – the kind of opening that sets the tone for your whole film. Watch Ashleigh + Alan’s film above to see it for yourself.

Our top tip: take your time on the staircase. Pause at the top, take a breath and enjoy the moment – it’s one of the grandest entrances there is.
